Privacy and Security
Last updated: July 12, 2026
We believe that privacy is a fundamental right. We seek to minimize the amount of personal information that we collect and store. We are not interested in advertising or building predatory "profiles" of our visitors. Any information we do collect is only used to operate Goblin Guide and make informed decisions about how to improve it. We don't sell or trade visitor information with other companies.
This document provides details about what kind of data Goblin Guide gathers and how we manage and protect it.
1. Secure Browsing
Goblin Guide forces HTTPS for all services, including our public website and API. Information you submit to Goblin Guide is encrypted in transit and cannot be seen by your internet service provider or anyone else on your network.
2. Cookies and Browser Data
Goblin Guide uses a combination of browser cookies and your browser's local storage to remember your preferences and identify who is logged in. We only set these items when you specifically log in to the Site or change your preferences. If you no longer want this information on your device, you can clear your browser's history and cookies at any time.
3. Goblin Guide Accounts
You can register for a Goblin Guide account in order to post comments and ratings. If you do, the information in this section applies to you.
Personal information: to open an account, you provide an email address and password, or sign in with a Google account. We receive a unique user ID and your email address, and you choose a username. None of this information needs to contain your legal name.
Data privacy: your email address is private; we will never display it publicly or share it with other companies. Your username, comments, ratings, and public profile are visible to other people who use Goblin Guide.
Email policy: Goblin Guide will only send you emails related to your account, such as password resets. Goblin Guide does not have a "newsletter" or other marketing email list.
Data storage: account authentication and data storage are handled by third-party cloud infrastructure providers. In order to investigate and troubleshoot account issues, Goblin Guide administrators may access this data. When access is no longer needed, it is revoked.
Account deletion: you can delete your Goblin Guide account at any time from your account settings. If you do, we will remove your account details and profile information. Please note that once you delete your account, this information is unrecoverable, even by Goblin Guide administrators.
4. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing (for example, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation or the California Consumer Privacy Act). To exercise these rights, contact us at goblin.guide@goblin.guide.
5. Children
Goblin Guide is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us so we can delete it.
6. Legal Disclosure
We may be required to disclose personal information we hold in order to comply with a legal process, protect or defend our rights or property, or protect the rights of others. When we disclose information, we will do so only after reviewing the request carefully, and we will seek to reject overly broad or unclear requests. If we must disclose your personal information to comply with the law, we will notify you as soon as we are able to, unless prohibited from doing so.
7. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
