Terms of Service

These are the Terms of Service for using Goblin Guide. You must read these terms and agree to them before creating a Goblin Guide account. If you do not agree with these terms, you may not register for Goblin Guide.

We're going to use some shorthand to make this easier to read. When we say "Goblin Guide," "the Site," "we," or "us," we mean the Goblin Guide website. When we say "content," "your content," or "post," we mean any information you submit or store on Goblin Guide, including your account name, comments, and ratings.

We may modify these terms at any time. If the changes are material, we'll try to let you know by posting a notice on the Site before the changes go into effect. If you don't agree to the new terms, you may delete your account and stop using Goblin Guide. Continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.

1. Fan Content

Goblin Guide is unofficial Fan Content permitted under the Wizards of the Coast Fan Content Policy. It is not approved or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast. Portions of the materials used are the property of Wizards of the Coast LLC, © Wizards of the Coast LLC. Card data and images are used courtesy of Scryfall and MTGJSON. Archived Gatherer comments are used courtesy of cardologist on Reddit and the Pointed Discussion project.

2. Acceptable Use

You must follow these rules for acceptable use. These rules protect you and others on Goblin Guide from disruptive and harmful behavior.

Goblin Guide is for people ages 13 and up. You may not use Goblin Guide if you are under the age of 13. If you believe that someone under the age of 13 is using the Site, please contact us immediately.

Goblin Guide is not for advertising, trades, or sales.

• You may not use Goblin Guide to sell, offer, advertise, or trade any products or services, including Magic cards.
• You may not post content purely to advertise your clan, guild, team, club, store, company, or enterprise.
• You may not use Goblin Guide to advertise, sell, or recommend stocks, cryptocurrency, NFTs, or any other financial products or services.
• You may not scrape Goblin Guide or solicit information from its users for recruitment, head-hunting, or job-board purposes.
• You may not post political advertisements or campaign on the Site.

Goblin Guide is not a platform for bigotry or harassment.

• You may not distribute anyone's personal information without their consent.
• You may not harass, abuse, threaten, or incite violence towards any individual or group.
• You may not disparage any group of people based on age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, sexual identity, or sexual orientation.

Goblin Guide is "PG-13." Goblin Guide is not for mature content or mature discussions.

• You may not post excessively violent content or gore.
• You may not post sexual content or content where the focus is sexual activity.
• You may not post content where the focus is real-world guns, ammunition, weapons, drugs, or controlled substances.
• An exception is made to the above for violence and gore that is Magic: The Gathering card artwork.

Goblin Guide is not a platform for crime or deception.

• You may not post pirated or stolen content as a comment or rating.
• You may only post content that you created, that you own, or that you have the license to use.
• You may not impersonate anyone on Goblin Guide, especially Goblin Guide staff or Wizards of the Coast employees.
• You may not use Goblin Guide to distribute malware or to operate "command and control" tools.

Artificially generated content is not allowed. Content synthesized by AI tools, automatic translation tools, large language models, or "AI chatbots" is not permitted as a comment or rating on Goblin Guide.

You may not interfere with Goblin Guide's operation.

• You may not attempt to gain access to another user's account.
• You may not attempt to disrupt or tamper with Goblin Guide's servers or services.
• You may not place undue burden on Goblin Guide through the use of automated means, including scraping the Site at a volume that degrades service for other users.

3. Accounts

You may operate at most one personal account on Goblin Guide. Your account belongs to you alone; it is not shareable or transferable. You may not register an account with the intent to share access to it with other parties, and you may not sell, trade, or transfer ownership of your account to another party. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

4. Failure to Comply

If you fail to adhere to these guidelines for acceptable use, we may (but do not have to) take any of the following actions: issue you a warning, remove your content, suspend or delete your account, restrict your future access to the Site, or report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.

Goblin Guide is the final arbiter of these rules. We may have to make decisions about acceptable behavior that lie outside these guidelines to protect the Site or its users. You agree that we reserve the right to suspend anyone's access to Goblin Guide for any reason, at any time, with or without cause or notice.

You may confidentially report instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior by contacting us at goblin.guide@goblin.guide.

5. Content License

You retain ownership of all content you post on Goblin Guide. However, by posting your content, you grant Goblin Guide a non-exclusive, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to access, use, transform, and display your content in order to operate the Site. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except to the extent your content has already been displayed or distributed as part of the Site's ordinary operation (for example, in cached pages or backups).

6. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, please contact us at goblin.guide@goblin.guide with a description of the content, its location on the Site, and your contact information. We will review the request and remove infringing content at our discretion.

7. Limitation of Liability

Goblin Guide is provided "AS-IS" and on an "AS-AVAILABLE" basis. We do our best to provide a reliable service, but we may change, suspend, or restrict access to any aspect of the Site, at any time, without notice. You use Goblin Guide at your own risk. You agree that Goblin Guide does not owe you any compensation for site outages, software bugs, inconveniences, or our failure to live up to any statement in this document, and you agree that you will not hold us liable for any losses, whether personal, financial, or data-related, arising from your use of the Site.

Archived and card data are for informational purposes only. Goblin Guide includes historical community comments and ratings, and card metadata sourced from third parties. Absolutely no guarantee is made for the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of this information.

8. Termination

You may stop using Goblin Guide and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Site as described in Section 4.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
